First time on a board portal
If your board has run on email and PDFs until now, this page is for you. It assumes nothing.
What actually changes
Papers arrive in one place. No hunting through email for the version that was actually tabled. The board pack is assembled once and everyone sees the same thing.
Decisions get recorded as decisions. Not as a line in a document that someone might edit later — as a resolution with a date, a mover, an outcome, and optionally your signature over it.
You can ask questions. Pam is an AI company secretary. She knows your board's history and Australian governance law, and she cites what she relies on so you can check her.
What does not change
You are still the director. Pam drafts; named humans approve. Nothing is decided by software, and the board retains decision authority — that is a design commitment, not a setting.
Your obligations are unchanged. A better record does not lower the bar; it makes meeting the bar visible.

- The board pack. Where papers live and how to read them before a meeting. See Board packs.
- Declaring an interest. Do it in the register, not verbally. It becomes part of the permanent record and appears against decisions where it matters.
- Sealing a decision. If your board uses it, your seal is a signature over the exact words of the resolution. See Sealed decisions.
Frequently worried about
"Will the AI decide things?" No. Pam drafts and suggests. Every approval is a named human act, recorded as such.
"Is our information used to train AI?" No. See Security.
"What if I make a mistake?" Almost everything is editable, and the record shows what changed. The exceptions are deliberate: the audit log and seals cannot be altered, because a record that can be quietly rewritten is not evidence.
