For board members
As a director you mostly read, decide, and record. The administration is someone else's job.
Before a meeting
The board pack appears under Meetings once published. Read it there rather than downloading it — annotations and questions stay attached to the paper.
If you have an interest in something on the agenda, declare it in Registers → Interests before the meeting, not during it. A declaration in the register is dated and permanent; a verbal one relies on the minutes catching it.
During a meeting
Attendance and apologies are recorded by the secretary. Decisions are captured as they happen.
If your board votes electronically, you will see open votes on the Votes page.
After a meeting
Draft minutes appear for review. Read them properly — approving minutes is a governance act, not an acknowledgement.
If your board uses sealing, you can put your signature on a resolution. See Sealed decisions.
Asking Pam
Pam is available on every screen and knows your board's history. Ask her anything you would ask a company secretary — she cites what she relied on, and says so when she cannot find authority.
