Credits
A credit is a unit of AI work. Everything Pam does costs credits, and your plan includes a monthly allowance.
User guide
What things cost
A typical question is about 5 credits. A daily brief is about 13. Drafting minutes or analysing a board pack costs more, in proportion to length.
When the allowance runs out
AI stops. It is a hard stop, not a bill — you are never charged for overage you did not choose. Everything else in the product keeps working: papers, minutes, registers and the record are unaffected.
Getting more
Buy a top-up pack, or move to a plan with a larger allowance. Purchased credits do not expire; the monthly allowance does.
Technical notes
- Ledger:
ai_credit_ledger, append-only, with reserve → call → settle - A reservation is taken before the model call and settled after, so a failed call does not consume credits
- Stale reservations are released after fifteen minutes
- The allowance is granted by the Stripe
invoice.paidwebhook and follows the Price, never an amount
Support notes
"We ran out mid-month"
Check: Settings → Billing → usage by feature. Usually: daily briefs for a large board. Eight directors receiving one daily consume roughly 3,000 credits a month before anything else happens. Fix: reduce brief frequency, or move up a plan.
"We were charged for credits we did not use"
You are not. Credits are included in the plan, and the hard stop means there is no overage charge.
